FAQs
What is Tribulus terrestris?
Tribulus terrestris, also known as ‘puncture vine’, is a small leafy plant found in parts of Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. It’s root and fruit has been traditionally used in Chinese and Indian medicine for many years. Recently, Tribulus terrestris extract has become popular as a general health supplement and is also widely used by strength training athletes and bodybuilders.
What are the benefits of taking Tribulus terrestris?
Tribulus terrestris is purported to have many potential health benefits, such as increasing levels of testosterone and enhancing libido. Research in humans, however, is limited and there is very little support for most health claims related to Tribulus terrestris. We do know, however, that it contains steroidal saponins, a unique and popular compound.
Is Tribulus terrestris safe?
As with all supplements, you should always consider the potential side effects before taking Tribulus terrestris. While it is perfectly safe to use alongside a healthy well-balanced diet, uncommon side effects such as reflux or minor stomach cramps have been reported.
When should Tribulus terrestris be taken?
It’s always best to follow the instructions on the product label when taking Tribulus terrestris, or any supplements for that matter. We recommend taking one capsule of Body&Fit Tribulus Max per day, for example, preferably with food. Other products may differ. In relation to training, studies indicate that the timing of Tribulus terrestris consumption is not important.
