A water-soluble dietary fibre, extracted from the root of the konjac plant, Glucomannan is proven to support weight loss with a daily intake of 3g in three doses of 1g each, together with water, before meals while following an energy-restricted diet. Glucomannan has also been shown to contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels, at a dose of 4g per day.
